Accessibility

WalkCue is made for blind and low-vision people, so a barrier here is a defect in the product, not a footnote.

Draft pending attorney review. Effective date to be set at launch.

Accessibility. We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the website and app, test with VoiceOver and TalkBack, and treat accessibility problems as serious defects. Every legal document is available in an accessible format and as audio on request, and the onboarding safety briefing is spoken. Tell us through the contact form about any barrier, and we will respond.

What we test with Link to section What we test with

Before each release we check the website and the app with these:

  • VoiceOver with Safari on iPhone, and TalkBack with Chrome on Android, doing the real tasks without looking: first run, start and stop guiding, Find, change speed, replay the safety briefing.
  • A keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring on every control.
  • 200% browser zoom, and 400% zoom with no sideways scrolling.
  • An axe scan and a Lighthouse accessibility run on every page.
  • A phone in direct sunlight, because glare is where low-vision contrast fails first.

Display settings we follow Link to section Display settings we follow

  • Reduced motion. If your device asks for less motion, nothing on the site or in the app animates.
  • High contrast. With more contrast turned on, secondary text becomes full-strength text and borders get thicker. Forced-colors mode (Windows contrast themes) is supported.
  • Light and dark. Both follow your device setting. Text meets at least 4.5:1 contrast in both.
  • Text size. Body text is 19px or larger and nothing is smaller than 15px. Layouts hold up when you increase text spacing.
  • Touch targets. At least 48px on the website and 56px in the app.

WalkCue is a prototype. An outside review against WCAG 2.2 Level AA hasn't been done yet; it is on our list before public release. Our own checks can miss things, so if something doesn't work for you, tell us.
